Insurance Types Reviews

Women’s Car Insurance Review

Women’s car insurance, how long has it taken for insurance companies to realise just what safe drivers we are? I’ll bet you any money that whoever came up with these types of car insurance policies was a woman! Some of the biggest car insurance companies have, at last, started to reward women for the fact that they rank lower in the risk stakes when it comes to being on the road. For a start, we girls do not allow our heads to be turned by all of those extras that you can add to your car in order for it to become sportier. This (if you didn’t already know) actually raises the cost of insurance on your car.

The reason behind this is that the faster your car is the more at risk you are of having an accident. Plus, women tend not to speed as much as men do, we mostly use our vehicles for commuting to and from work or completing the daily school run. This means that as a whole, women have to be more responsible when they are on the road because they are more likely to be carrying young passengers or delicate loads like the weekly shopping.

Here are some statistics for you:

  • In the UK alone driving offences are committed by over 90% of men
  • When it comes to dangerous driving the statistics show that over 95% of this sort of offence is caused by men.

Any person that is involved in marketing within a car insurance company cannot ignore these statistics, they speak for themselves!

How to go About Finding the Right Women’s Car Insurance Policy

One way in which you can find a car insurance policy to suit you if you are a woman is to research on the internet; there are plenty of price comparison websites that you can use to find companies that specialise in women’s car insurance policies. Be aware, however, that not all reputable insurance firms subscribe to price comparison websites. My advice here is to start there, gather some quotes and then go to other car insurance companies to see if they can match the prices you have found.

The other thing you can do is ask around, word of mouth is a very powerful marketing tool…if you happen to work for or own a car insurance company and are reading this article, please take note….we do talk about you!

Make sure that before you decide on a car insurance policy that is geared towards women that you understand fully what is covered when it comes to you and your vehicle; many people (not just women) get themselves into sticky financial situations because they have not understood EXACTLY what their car insurance policy covers.

Some of the Best Women’s Car Insurance Companies

AA – This Company has been around for many years and his here to stay. They are practically a household name in the UK and offer some great deals on women’s car insurance policies. The one thing they are great at recognising is that as a woman, if you are driving alone and happen to breakdown or are involved in an accident, you are more at risk of becoming a victim of additional crime then men are. They pledge to attend to your needs within 30 minutes of you calling them and this can come as standard with their fully comprehensive car insurance policies. I have chosen this company as top of the list because I honestly cannot find a bad word to say about them. The discounts they offer for women’s car insurance policies are some of the best on the market and if you go to them with a price you have already been quoted, they will more than likely match or even beat that price.

Sheila’s Wheels – What a fantastic company name, as a woman I would be interested in researching their car insurance policies just because of that. I guess that’s why they came up with the name….very clever, whoever thought of it. One of the best things that this company offers with its comprehensive car insurance policies is handbag cover for up to £300; for any men reading this, you may think “what a load of old rubbish”, well let me tell you, handbags are incredibly important to us ladies and we guard them with our lives. It’s not just about having your favourite lipstick to hand, we keep our keys, credit cards and money within our handbags so having a car insurance policy that covers this is a real bonus.

Another great idea that Sheila’s wheels has come up with is that they will offer you counselling with you car insurance policy, this is available to you 24 hours a day, every day. I only wish that I had come across this company sooner, some years back I was involved in a car accident and had I had counselling available to me under my insurance policy I would definitely have taken advantage of it. Of course no claims discount is important to us as well and this company offer up 75% with their women’s car insurance policies.

Women on Wheels – Yet another great company name, if you are looking for a car insurance policy tailored for women; there will be no confusion about what this company does. These guys are part of the Endsleigh Insurance Group and if you go to their website all you need to do is click on the “get a quote button” and they will find a policy that suits your own needs. This is great, because everyone is different and we ladies require different types of cover than men. They do also have the following that comes as standard with their comprehensive women’s car insurance policies:

  • Up to 76% no claims discount.
  • All repairs that are carried out on your car are guaranteed for 5 years.
  • If you use one of their preferred garages for servicing or MOT you can save between 10 & 20%.
  • If your car needs to go in for repairs, you get a courtesy car as standard.

Bear in mind that the above are just a few examples of what you can expect to get from your car insurance policy and do also remember that if you have a special requirement, they will do their best to help you.

These are just a chosen few of the car insurance companies that specialise in women’s car insurance policies. A lot of the well known larger companies also now offer car insurance policies for women however; you might well be better off sticking with those that make it their business to insure women. If you have a partner or husband, don’t worry, you can get multi-car insurance policies that will allow you to add your spouse or house mate as well. This will not affect the savings that you can make with your own car insurance policy.

In Conclusion

At last, the UK car insurance market has recognised that us girls are a safer bet when it comes to car insurance and not only that, they are now thinking about the sort of needs that a woman has when it comes to insurance on her car. It doesn’t matter which way you dress it up, it’s a dangerous world out there and women need specialist protection when they are on the road; especially when they are driving alone. There are hundreds of car insurance policies tailored towards women with this in mind.

If you are a woman and you are on the market for a car insurance policy, check out the companies mentioned in this article, they have really thought about what women’s car insurance policies should include and not only that, they offer great savings because we, as women, are less likely to make a claim. Car insurance companies now know that as women, we drive more safely and take better care of our vehicles than men do.

With some women’s car insurance companies, you will even be able to gain advice on how to make sure that your car is safe to drive; one of the things that men do come out top on is having the knowledge about tyre pressure, oil levels and so on. When you choose a car insurance policy tailored towards women, you will find that on the whole, most of the companies that offer women’s car insurance policies will advise you on these little issues. After all, it’s in their interest to ensure that you don’t experience a tyre blowing out on the motorway or your engine conking out because you have run out oil.

The message here is that whether you’re a young woman that has recently passed her driving test or a woman that has been driving for some time; you can now at last, find women’s car insurance policies that will protect you properly. You can now find a car insurance policy that is just for you!

Pet Insurance Review

If you have pets then this article is going to be especially useful to you. I happen to have 2 cats that have been a part of my life since they were 4 weeks old and they are now 17 going on 18 years old. Anyone who has pets that are lucky enough for them to reach their twilight years will know how expensive it can be to keep them fit and healthy. I only wish that I had taken out pet insurance at an earlier stage. Let me give you an example of my monthly outgoings based on what my 2 wonderful girls need in order for them to still be happy in life.

They both now have kidney problems, this is very common in both cats and dogs, it costs me just over £20 every 28 days to buy the kidney pills that they require so that they are not constantly vomiting everywhere (more on that in a minute). They also need a special diet of food that helps keep their kidneys functioning, this costs £15 per 1.5 Kilo a bag and as there are 2 of them I can get through 2 bags each month. On top of this I spend £7.50 for a tube of something called “engergel”, this ensures that their livers are in tip top condition (both have had problems in this area). If you add to this the cost of the amount of kitchen roll and anti-bacterial cleanser I can get through in a month due to the vomiting (especially in the summer months), it all starts to add up.

This is where pet insurance comes in, if you add up what I have already spoken about, we are talking almost £60 per month just on food and prescription items that both of my cats need so that they have quality of life. This doesn’t include the odd visit to the vet for a blood test to make sure that they are healthy or the odd overnights stay when they get really ill. This can cost in excess of £80 each time! I dare not even tell you how much this adds up to over a 12 month period.

Now you have some background information on how much pets can cost you as they get older. If you have pets, don’t do what I did (incidentally pet insurance wasn’t really around when I first got my cats), if it was then it was really expensive to get. Start early and get yourself some pet insurance. Many companies that deal in all types of insurance have now realised that they can also help when it comes to your pets. I know at the beginning of this article I explained the cost implications when it comes to your pets being older, however, they cost you money all through their lives. When they are young, they need to be vaccinated and neutered (if you are a responsible parent of course)!

One company that appears to have been a pioneer in the area of pet insurance is More Than, anyone who has not seen the ad with the Morgan Freeman voice over must not have a television, their pet insurance policies, in my opinion are 2nd to none. Here are some of the benefits you will receive with a pet insurance policy with More Than:

  • They will beat any quote that you receive when it comes to the time when you need to renew your pet insurance policy.
  • You can have a policy that will cost you as little as £7.00 per month.
  • The pet insurance that you receive covers all vet bills up to £7,000.
  • It will not matter how old you dog or cat is, you can start to insure them from the minute they are 8 weeks old until (God forbid) they die.
  • You will receive a 24 hour 7 day a week vet hotline service, so if you are worried there will be someone on the end of the phone to help, not matter what time of day it is.
  • You can also receive up to £600 towards advertising costs should your pet go missing, this can be a harrowing time for anyone that has a pet and knowing that you have this to fall back on with your pet insurance policy is a real bonus.
  • If you want to take your pet abroad, be aware that not many companies offer insurance for this, More Than do. Funnily enough they cover both cats and dogs for this. Your pet will be insured just like a human being so if he or she should need medical treatment whilst you are on holiday, you will not be hit with a massive bill.

The reason that I have mentioned the benefits that you will receive with a More Than pet insurance policy is that cheapest is not always best. We in the UK are well known for our love of animals and we tend to go that extra mile when taking care of our pets. Make sure that when you are looking for a pet insurance policy that you check exactly what you will receive for the money you are spending. The last thing you need is to book your pet in for an expensive operation only to find that your pet insurance policy will not cover you for it.

One of the pitfalls that you can come up against is that should your pet be diagnosed with an ongoing health issue such as cancer or kidney and liver problems, many pet insurance policies will only cover the treatment they require for the first 12 months. This can be a huge problem to you; many dogs and cats can live for a long time with an ongoing health issue with the right treatment. If your pet does have an ongoing health issue and it is diagnosed early on in life you will more than likely need to be covered for a number of years….make sure that you check this out before signing on the dotted line!

I have only mentioned More Than as a pet insurance option in this article; however, there are many large insurance companies out there that offer great pet insurance policies. I have used More Than purely as an example so that you can get an idea of what sort of cover is available for your pet. Do bear in mind however that this company will only cover cats or dogs.

If you happen to have an exotic pet such as a reptile, spider or any other animal that falls into this bracket, do not despair, there are pet insurance policies out there for you too. Many companies will take on an exotic pet and the type of cover you will receive is much the same as that for a cat or dog. Except for the fact that should you wish to take you exotic pet on holiday with you, I doubt you would find any company that would cover this…..be sensible, ask a friend to look after he or she for you instead!

Whatever type of pet you may have you’ll find a pet insurance policy to suit you. If you are someone who truly loves animals and likes to help out with donations to charity from time to time, why not check out the pet insurance policies that the RSPCA have to offer. When you take out a pet insurance policy with them, part of your premium will go towards helping the charity, a bit like killing 2 birds with 1 stone (sorry for the pun, no offense intended). Some of the benefits you will get with a pet insurance policy from the RSPCA other than helping the charity of course are as follows:

  • All of your vet fees will be covered.
  • Help with finding pets that are lost or stolen.
  • Help with accommodation costs should you, as the owner become ill and are not able to take care of your pet.

In Conclusion

Did you know that in the UK pet insurance is now more important to us than our own health insurance; research which has recently been undertaken has shown that up to 45% of pet owners will take out a pet insurance policy instead of a policy that will protect themselves from any health issues? We, in the UK are so besotted with our animals that we will give up on luxuries such as holidays, gym memberships and even alcohol and cigarettes in order to make those monthly payments on our pet insurance policies. I happen to the think that the latter of these will actually help to ensure that we as humans won’t actually need a health insurance policy for ourselves.

As mentioned at the beginning of this article, I didn’t take out pet insurance until my 2 girls where much older. Don’t make the same mistake as me; take a look at pet insurance today.

Home Insurance Review

Home insurance is possibly one of the most important insurance policies you will take out. As they say “a man’s home is his castle”. If you are not insured when it comes to your home, this can potentially be a complete disaster for you and in some extreme cases can even bankrupt you! You don’t need to end up in a situation like this, just make sure that you get a decent home insurance policy that will protect you, your family, your belongings and your house from anything that might go wrong.

How to Start Looking for a Home Insurance Policy

One way in which you can start looking for a home insurance policy is when you either take out a mortgage or buy a property outright; take the advice of the mortgage lender or the estate agent you have made your purchase with. These companies often have systems in place that mean that they receive a commission for inviting you to take a home insurance policy with certain companies. Of course, with mortgage lenders, it is in their interest to make sure that you have the correct home insurance policy in place, remember, they have a vested interest in your home too.

The other way you can set about looking for a home insurance policy is to turn to the internet, there are many price comparison websites you can use to get the best price possible for your home insurance policy, you will also find that on some of these websites you can enter any special requirements you might have when it comes to insuring your home. Do however, make sure that you don’t stop there with your research, there are a lot of companies that do not use price comparison websites and you might be able to better the price you have already found.

Some of the Best Companies that Offer Home Insurance

Direct Line – This Company will not be found on price comparison websites and they are proud of that fact. They have a wide range of home insurance policies that will suit just about everyone. As standard, Direct Line offers the following with their home insurance policies:

  • Contents cover up to £50,000.
  • Personal possessions insurance up to £50,000.

Direct line offer 2 types of home insurance plans, home insurance and home insurance plus. Between them Direct Line offers the following:

  • Buildings cover.
  • Alternative accommodation.
  • Accidental Damage.
  • Family Legal Protection.
  • Home Emergency cover.
  • Cycle Cover.
  • Online and identity fraud (this is really useful to have these days, we all use the internet for shopping or online banking to a certain degree and theft of your identity is big business).

All in all, the home insurance you will get with this company will cover just about anything you need.

More Than – This company has some really comprehensive home insurance policies available and at great rates. They promise to beat any quote that you may have when it is time for you to renew your home insurance policy, however, do not compromise on service. One of the first things you are faced with when looking at their website is the fact that they will offer you a saving of around £130 on your contents insurance. There are many benefits that come with More Than and their home insurance policies, here are some of them:

  • They pay for replacement keys and locks on your home if they are lost or stolen.
  • Garden cover (I think this a great idea), this is available as standard and will cover your plants and trees to the value of £2,000. You will also benefit from cover on your garden furniture, kids toys and your barbeque.
  • Have you ever tried calling up an insurance company either to make a claim or find our more about the service they offer? If the answer is yes then, like me, you are more than likely fed up with not getting the same person twice. More Than will allocate a dedicated manager to your account, another great idea. At last, a company that recognises the fact us, the public and their customers need some continuity when dealing with them.

You should also know that his company has been awarded the best online contents and home insurance award for the last 2 years on the trot. Another plus when you are looking for a home insurance company you can trust.

You may not know but many banks have now started to offer home insurance in the UK, so whoever you bank with, it might be worth asking the question.

Above are just a couple of examples that I thought you should know about when it comes to home insurance, in my opinion the 2 that I have mentioned are the best on the market at the moment.

What Do I Do if I have a Specialist Item in my Home that needs to be insured?

That’s an easy one, tonnes of home insurance companies recognise that you may have belongings that are very dear to you but are not the run of the mill objects. Maybe you have a Grand Piano that has been passed down through the generations or you might have a grandfather clock that dates back to the 1700’s. All you have to do is make sure that the home insurance policy that you take out will cover these items. In some cases (depending on the value of the item in question) you may be asked to take out a separate policy for this item on it’s own as it will be treated differently to anything else you have covered on your standard home insurance policy.

What do I do if I live in a Flood Alert Area?

This is a question that sits on many peoples lips these days. In recent years the UK has suffered some of the worst flooding in decades. Initially, home insurance companies reacted with panic as they suddenly had hundreds more people claiming for water damage in their homes. Things, thankfully, have now settled down a little bit and the powers that be within home insurance companies have had time to re-evaluate how they treat this sort of problem. In the beginning it was very difficult to get home insurance (if you could even get insured at all) however, there are now policies available that will protect your home and it’s belongings from water damage. Make sure that whoever you decide to take your home insurance policy out with does in fact cover water damage or flooding.

A Couple of Pitfalls to Look Out For

One potential pitfall you can come across when taking out a new home insurance policy are clauses that are included in the contract that may not be clear to you. For instance, there have been many times when people have put in a claim because that 100 year old oak tree came crashing through the roof of their house due to an unexpected storm. When making the claim, they are told that “sorry, we cannot pay out as this was an act of God”. Not very fair is it, how are you supposed to know what is considered to be a “hand of God” and what isn’t. After all, that’s what Maradona refers to his hand as and I bet he hasn’t had any trouble getting insurance!

Make sure that you check with your chosen home insurance company what they consider to be this type of incident and what they will not cover. It’s just as important to know what the insurance company will NOT pay for as it is to know what they will pay for.

In Conclusion

Finding home insurance does not have to be a major headache, as mentioned there a loads of home insurance companies to choose from but as I have already said, price comparison websites can help take some of the hassle out of finding the right company. Also, try talking to your friends or even ask at work which company the business you work for has their insurance with. The chances are that whoever they use will offer home insurance as well.

Above all, make sure you have ALL of the cover you need when it comes to home insurance, it’s relatively cheap to obtain a decent policy these days. Home insurance is a very competitive market place and that can only be good for us consumers. In my opinion, take more cover than you are ever likely to need, that way you are covered for just about any eventuality.

If you have read this far and still think that home insurance is bottom of the list when ensuring that you are protected from any accidents that may occur in the home, think again. Even something as small as a leaking pipe can cause and inordinate amount of damage in the home and the last thing you need is to have to pay for your own repairs.

Car Insurance Benefits Coverage Plans and Discounts Review

Auto accidents can easily deprive you of your money as the costs of paying for another person’s vehicle, his medical bills, and your own can run into thousands of cash. Having car insurance provides you with financial coverage against unforeseen risks such as freak accidents, natural disasters, riots, and theft. In many countries, it is compulsory to have auto insurance before keeping or using a vehicle on public roads.

There are numerous benefits of having car insurance. First and foremost, it gives you financial security as you don’t need to pay up for the costs that might arise due to a road accident or theft. An insurance plan for your automobile gives you peace of mind because you don’t need to look for funds to cover up for the expenses in case a traffic disaster happens. Another benefit of getting a vehicle indemnity plan is that if you bump someone else’s auto and the fault is yours, then an auto insurance policy will become your saviour.

There are different types of coverage plans that insurance companies have to offer. Some of these plans may be required by your state, whereas some are optional. Auto insurance usually covers some or all of the items like medical payments to the insured party, cost for physical damage to the insured vehicle, and costs for vehicle damage and medical bills for the third party. A vehicle can also be insured against fire damage, accident damage, or theft independently. A variety of factors such as the model of your car, value of the car, your driving record, number of miles your car driven, and the amount of money you are willing to pay will determine the type of coverage plan you are eligible for.

Direct Line is an U.K insurance company that provides extensive auto coverage at superb rates. It offers you with a wide variety of cover options that give you confidence to drive peacefully. For example, “Comprehensive” is a Direct Line’s coverage plan that pays for loss or damage to your vehicle due to fire, theft or an accident. This plan also covers for claims made by other people for damage to their property or bodily injury. “Third Party Fire and Theft” is a plan that covers you if other people claim against you for damage or injury to their property or car, and if your car is damaged by fire or is stolen. Direct Line offers another plan known as “Third Party Only” that covers liability such as claims made by third parties, against you, for damage to their property or bodily injury.

Having car insurance through Direct Line will help you obtain discounts and other forms of rewards. This will help bring down further the cost of your insurance. Various discounts offered by Direct Line include Only Driver Discount, Named Driver No Claims Discount, Multi-car Discount, Breakdown Discount, Breakdown Multi-car Discount, Multi-product Discounts, Company Car No Claims Discount, and Pass Plus Discount.

Direct Line also offers additional extras such as Guaranteed Hire Car (you will be supplied with a hire car for up to 14 days if your car is unusable), Guaranteed Hire Car Plus (Direct Line will supply a hire car for up to 21 days), and legal protection which means that if you have an accident that’s not your fault, then the company will provide you up to £100,000 of legal costs to recover losses which can’t be recovered from any insurance policy. Remember that you can avail these car insurance optional extras for a small extra premium. Last but not the least; Direct Line makes use of “Anti-Fraud Technology” to detect false and exaggerated claims. This, in turn, helps keep prices low and settles genuine claims as quickly as possible.

Car Insurance In The UK Review

This article has been written in order to help those of you that are currently looking for car insurance in the UK or already have car insurance in the UK. Unbeknown to a lot of us, you may think that you are insured and are happily driving around safe in the knowledge that should you, God forbid, be in an accident that you will not have to worry about your insurance company paying out. There are actually a few points that I have decided to clarify within this article so that you are aware of what can happen if you do not ensure that your car insurance actually covers what you need.

Understand the Insurance Bands for Car Insurance in the UK

These can be pretty confusing, so in this section, I intend to explain them to you. There are 20 different bands for car insurance in the UK. No: 1 is considered to be those insured are at the lowest risk for any insurance company taking the driver on. No: 20 is considered to be the highest risk for insurance companies. Depending on which band you fall into will depend on how much your insurance will cost you.

Such factors as the size of the engine on your vehicle, what the top speed is and….this will surprise some of you, even the weight and how much the parts cost on your car will also be factors that are taken into consideration when deciding on which band your car will fall into. For further information on which type of band your car will fall into, you need only enter the phrase “which UK car insurance band will my vehicle fall into in the UK” into your chosen search engine. There are plenty of websites that have been set up in order for you to find this out. It is important that you do know which band your vehicle falls into prior to hunting down any type of car insurance in the UK; this will eliminate any nasty surprises when you start to collect quotes from insurance companies.

Types of Car Insurance in the UK that are Available

There are 3 types of car insurance in the UK and these are listed below:

Third Party – This is one of the oldest types of policy that you can choose and these days, not many people decide on this as it really doesn’t cover a lot of insurance needs for modern drivers today. It is very basic and will not cover you for most of the problems that can occur on the roads today.

Third Party Fire and Theft – This type of policy does what the title suggests, you will get the most basic of form of insurance cover, and your vehicle will also be covered for theft and fire.

Fully Comprehensive – This sort of policy is one of the most popular available in the UK market today and although it costs more, you will find that you are covered for pretty much any type of accident that may occur, whether it be a small scratch or an accident that means that your vehicle is a write off.

How to Decide on the Right Insurance Company for You

When looking for car insurance in the UK, it can be a real mine field; insurance is big business these days for all forms of life, cars are no exception. One of the biggest problems the UK has at the moment is the amount of people that have arrived into the country from around the world and do not get their vehicles insured because they do not understand how the system works. Many insurance companies have taken this on board and now offer policies that will protect you from these sorts of drivers. One way you can find the right car insurance company for you, is to go to a price comparison website on the internet. These sorts of companies are relatively new to the UK market; however, they have taken the insurance arena by storm. Whilst people are hugely conscious of ensuring that their vehicles are properly covered, they also want to save money as well.

These types of websites will allow you to enter all of the details of your car and will then give you results of the best insurance companies that can help. Do bear in mind however, that this is in no way a way of making sure that the company you are presented with is reputable and knows what they are doing. There are many car insurance companies that have decided to move away from the whole price comparison website arena and advertise this fact with pride. My advice when you are looking for car insurance in the UK is to do your home work. Make sure that you know which band your vehicle falls into by using the advice given at the beginning of this article. Take some time to really research the right insurance company; this may take you some time however, could save you a lot of money in the future.

Young Drivers and Car Insurance in the UK

This has become an inherent problem for car insurance companies in the UK, especially when it comes to young male drivers. This band of car owners are constantly bombarded with adverts on how they can make their cars go faster, add spoilers, bore out the engines, the list goes on. As a result, car insurance in the UK has become pretty pricey for those of you that are in your late teens or mid to late 20’s. The advice here is that you should do your best to ensure that you do not do anything to your car that is likely to cause the price of your policy to go up. It is easy to have you head turned by those fancy spoilers or engines that growl as they go speeding past however, this does meant that you will be considered a greater risk when taking out car insurance in the UK.

A Little Bit of History about Car Insurance in the UK

Car insurance in the UK was first introduced in the early 1930’s. This came about when the Government realised that the use of cars was becoming increasingly more popular and saw a way of making extra money in order to keeps roads looking their best and to also ensure that they were safe to use. As previously mentioned, this is when the third party insurance policy was introduced. Later in the mid 1980’s The Road Traffic Act was born and this when car insurance in the UK became more complicated and the policies that were available became more comprehensive.

In Conclusion

Do remember that car insurance in the UK is a LEGAL requirement and should you be stopped by the police and they find that you have no insurance you WILL be prosecuted to the letter of the law. Do also remember that car insurance in the UK is there for a reason, to keep you safe! Of course, car insurance will not stop accidents from happening, however, it you do happen to be in an accident that means you need hospital treatment; the last thing you need to be worrying about is how you are going to pay to have your car repaired or replaced.

Once you have found out which band your car falls into, done your research on the best car insurance company for you and actually signed up to a policy you will be given something called a “cover note”. This is one of the most important pieces of paper relating to car insurance in the UK and should be kept to hand within your vehicle at all times. It’s also worth having a copy of it in your home, just in case your car goes missing. When or if you are stopped by police in the UK, you will be asked for your cover note as a matter of normal police practice; the cover note is just as important as your driving licence.

Above all, I hope this article has been of use to you and that you are now feeling a better about how to obtain car insurance in the UK. The aim is for you to enjoy your driving experience when using the roads in the UK and to ensure that you have the right insurance policy for you. It doesn’t have to be hard work and it doesn’t have to cost you and inordinate amount of money…there are plenty of reputable companies out there that have great policies at reasonable prices. Just make sure that you dot all the I’s and cross all the T’s before you sign anything. The last thing you need is to find out at a later date that the car insurance policy you have taken out does not cover everything you need when driving in the UK.

All that’s left to be said is happy and safe driving!
