Aviva Car Insurance Review

The first thing to mention about Aviva car insurance is their website. I have personally used it and it is easy, quick and simple. If you are looking for car insurance then Aviva is probably one of the best companies to go with. None of us wants to spend an inordinate amount of time researching the right company when it comes to car insurance; we’re all very busy people these days, trying to earn an honest living. With Aviva and their car insurance quotes; all you have to do is go through 6 quick and easy steps to obtain a quotation that will suit you. I managed to get a quote in less than 5 minutes!

If you do not have access to the internet for one reason or another, it’s easy enough to find the number for Aviva car insurance in your business directory and you will find that their employees’ are friendly and very knowledgeable about the car insurance policies they have to offer. If you are a “newbie” when it comes to car insurance, the staff at Aviva will guide you through each step of obtaining the right car insurance to suit you.

What Types of Car Insurance Policies can you expect to get with Aviva?

What you should be aware of here (and this is my opinion and not Aviva’s) is that you should, where possible get a fully comprehensive car insurance policy. This means that you will be covered for just about any unfortunate eventuality that may occur when you are out driving or if you car is parked and gets damaged.

There are 2 types of car insurance policy you can get with Aviva and they are:

Third Party Fire and Theft or TPFT – With this type of car insurance policy you will receive the following:

  • Of course your car will be covered for any loss or damage which comes about as a result of fire, theft or damage. Please do bear in mind that should you need to replace your car as a result of something like this happening, you will only receive the market value of your car.
  • The audio equipment in your car will also be covered with this type of car insurance policy however; you will be limited to £100 in value.
  • Aviva also offer a vehicle recovery or transport service with this policy. This means that should you be involved in an accident on the road; you will have a representative come out to you. If your car cannot be repaired there and then, your car will be taken to one of Aviva’s approved repairers (you don’t have to use an approved repairer however, this may result in delays). If your car does have to be taken to a garage, Aviva will ensure that you are either taken home or taken to the destination you were originally trying to reach. Once your car has been repaired, they will deliver it back to your home address.
  • Under this type of car insurance policy, you and any of your passengers will be covered for emergency medical treatment should you need it.

Fully Comprehensive – With this type of policy you will receive the following:

  • Everything mentioned above, plus….
  • If your car is a right off Aviva’s fully comprehensive car insurance policies will ensure that you are reimbursed with a new car….don’t get too excited here, they will replace your vehicle with the exact same make, model and year that you had previously.
  • If you happen to experience your windscreen or your windows being smashed as a result of vandalism, theft or due to an accident Aviva will replace them for you.
  • Medical expenses – this is slightly different to the TPFT policy in that it is not limited to you requiring emergency treatment. Sometimes injuries that are sustained during an accident do not surface until later, should this happen to you then Aviva will cover any medical expenses associated with your injuries.
  • You are covered for personal belongings that are lost or stolen from your car with this type of car insurance policy; there are limits though; so make sure you check these out first to make sure that it will suit your needs.
  • If you lose are have your keys stolen, Aviva will replace them and also the locks on your car. For those of you that have fancy anti-locking systems or keyless entries on your car do not worry Aviva cover this as well.
  • No claims discount (thinking about it, this should have come top of the list, anyway, I got there in the end). This is available not just for you but also for any named driver that you have on your car insurance policy.
  • For all of the parents out there, Aviva have not forgotten about you, if you have little ones you will need a child seat. If this happens to be damaged during an accident, is stolen or damaged by fire Aviva will give you up to £100 for a new one.
  • Tools are also covered with this type of car insurance policy, however, it is limited to non-powered tools and if you have tools in your car that are used for business this policy will not cover them. If you need that type of cover then take a look at their insurance policies for businesses.
  • Of course as with a lot of companies these days, Aviva will ensure that you do not lose out if you are hit by an uninsured driver. As long as you can provide them with the make of car, registration number and the details of the driver that hit you; they will ensure that your no claims discount is not affected and that any excess that you have to pay is refunded back to you.

Some Other Little Extras to look out for

You will find that car insurance policies with Aviva will start from as little as £200; this may sound very cheap but believe me they do! If you have a policy that only costs you this amount don’t expect to be treated any differently than those customers that spend more with them. Aviva pride themselves on their customer service and in my experience, they deliver.

If you are looking for a multi-car insurance policy Aviva are currently offering up to a 20% saving, so if you are currently in the market for this type of policy, get yourself on the website today! There are all sorts of incentives to help you decide that Aviva is the company for you when it comes to your car insurance. You can expect to get great deals when it comes to renewing your car insurance policy. They have a great little system connected to their website which means that you can manage your account online and you can even print off your own cover note directly from the website.

If you buy your car insurance through Aviva’s website they will give you £5 off straight away. Oh, and here is the best bit….they are currently offering 15 weeks free with any new car insurance policy that is taken out with them. This could mean a saving of well into hundreds of pounds for you.

In Conclusion

If you are looking for a car insurance company that will treat you like a person rather than just a number then Aviva is the company to go with. I cannot stress enough how good their customer service department is. When contacting them for the first time, you will not receive the “hard sell” and the sales people that work for them know exactly what they are talking about, so you will not find anyone saying to you “one second, I’ll just check with my manager”!

Aviva have been around for some time now and they are committed to ensuring that you, personally, receive the right level of service and most importantly of all that you take out the right car insurance policy for you. For me, I would not use anyone else, I poodle about quite happily in my car safe in the knowledge that I am properly insured and, with a company that knows the car insurance business inside and out.

It’s worth keeping an eye on Aviva and the part of their website that deals with car insurance; they are constantly watching their competition and always have great offers available. The mere fact that they have recently launched the 15 weeks free deal is proof of this as there is other major car insurance companies that have started to offer a number of weeks free. Aviva car insurance, however, have beaten the total number of weeks that you can get when signing up for a new car insurance policy.

Aviva are not just a company that deals in car insurance policies that are about the “numbers” game, they care about their customers and making sure that they renew year on year.

Sheila’s Wheels Car Insurance Review

Sheilas’ Wheels car insurance has been in business for 7 years now. Doesn’t sound very long does it? Well, don’t let that put you off using them for your car insurance, especially if you are a woman. This company targets us ladies and it will surprise you to know that it was actually founded by a man by the name of Peter Wood. At last, a man that has come up with something that actually helps us girls out! For you guys out there, don’t feel left out, you can also benefit from using Sheilas’ Wheels for your car insurance, they have policies for you too.

One of the reasons that Sheilas’ Wheels car insurance has become such a household name within the UK so quickly is because they were savvy enough to come up with an advertising campaign that some may call “irritating” and others would term as “brilliant”. I happen to favour the latter; the point of advertising on TV is to make sure that people remember your brand and Sheilas’ Wheels certainly did that. I don’t know of anyone that doesn’t remember the 3 blond bombshells that strut their stuff in an open top pink car singing “for bonzer car insurance, get on to Sheilas’ Wheels”.

Anyway, enough of the history of Sheila’s Wheels car insurance and on to the important stuff; just how good are their car insurance policies? Well, I’m going to tell you. Most of this article will focus on us ladies (since that was the prime reason this company was founded). However, for you men out there reading this, don’t switch off just yet, you may find that Sheila’s Wheels will be useful to you as well.

Here are some of benefits you can expect to get with a Sheilas’ Wheels car insurance policy:

  • First of all, you can get 3 types of car insurance policy with Sheilas’ Wheels; fully comprehensive, third party fire and theft and third party only. This is something that not many other car insurance companies do anymore but since it’s us ladies that they are dealing with here (incidentally, we are safer drivers than you guys; the stats prove it), this is why you can get all 3 types of car insurance policy with them.
  • Legal Liability – I was astounded when I saw just how much Sheilas’ Wheels will cover you when it comes to legal liability. They will cover you for up to £20 million to protect the injury or death of another person; this will also come into effect if there is damage to their property as well! Not only that, it doesn’t matter which policy you have with them, this figure remains the same.
  • If you happen to be unlucky enough to be involved in a car accident that means that your precious “Sheila” has to be written off then Sheilas’ Wheels will replace your car with a new one. However, this will only happen if your car is under 1 year old and is registered in your name or your partner or spouses name. Still, it’s not a bad option and again, there are not many other car insurance policies out there that can offer this. By the way, this will only come into effect if you have a fully comprehensive car insurance policy with them.
  • In Car Entertainment – Now if you are a woman that’s anything like me then your DVD player is a much loved part of your car. The first thing I do when I get into my car is find my favourite tracks and turn up the volume; there is nothing like taking to the road with my favourite music blaring out of the speakers (sorry to all of you that hate Rage Against The Machine). If you happen to have your DVD player stolen or damaged Sheila’s Wheels will replace if for you, however, this is limited to £1,000. It’s not just your DVD player that’s covered for this amount; just about anything electronic you can think of is protected. Games consoles, phones, radar detection and satellite navigation systems are also covered up to the amount stated above. Oh, and this is comes with both the fully comprehensive and third party fire and theft policies.
  • Handbag Cover – Mmmmmm…….I just LOVE this section of Sheilas’ Wheels car insurance policies. For any guys reading this, you may think that it is not something that is really that important. However, for us gals, this is one of the best ideas that a car insurance company has ever come up with. We don’t just keep our make up or perfume in our handbags; we also keep important items in them such as our wallets, credit cards and pictures of our loved ones. If your handbag happens to be stolen or damaged Sheilas’ Wheels will give you up to £300 to replace the all important items in your handbag (excluding pictures of loved ones of course).
  • Counselling Service – Again, this is something that I have not come across with any other car insurance company. If you are involved in an accident, with a Sheilas’ Wheels car insurance policy, they will provide you with counselling over the telephone. Anyone who has been in a car accident knows what scars it can leave behind and without professional help some people even stop driving altogether. I think this is a great option and will definitely be taking them up on the offer.
  • Breakdown Cover – Ok, so I accept that whether you are a man or a woman travelling alone then you’re at risk of some form of crime when you breakdown on the road however, us ladies are easier targets simply because we are the fairer race. With a Sheila’s Wheels car insurance policy you will receive preferential treatment when or if you breakdown on the roadside. Sheilas’ Wheels have approved breakdown assistance companies that pledge to just about drop everything when it comes to receiving a call from a woman that has broken down and is travelling alone. Sheilas’ Wheels say that they will ensure that someone is with you within 40 minutes. By the way girls, if you do get into this situation, stay inside the car with the doors locked. DO NOT open the door to anyone other than the official breakdown assistance guy. I’m not trying to teach you to suck eggs here; I’m just offering a bit of friendly safety advice.
  • No Claims Discount – A Sheilas’ Wheels car insurance policy will get you up to 75% no claims discount and if you want to (for an additional premium) you can take out extra cover that will protect your no claims discount for life.
  • For the Men in your Life – You can add your partner or spouse to your car insurance policy with Sheilas’ Wheels, the only stipulation is that they live at the same address as you and, they will receive all the benefits that you have with your policy….perhaps the man in your life might consider buying a handbag?
  • If you need to make a claim, Sheilas’ Wheels car insurance have a 24 hour 7 days per week hotline that you can call, so it doesn’t matter what time of day it is, you will be able to start your claim as soon as you have gotten yourself into trouble (with the car of course)! Plus, Sheilas’ Wheels car insurance proudly advertises that they have UK call centres only. Also, what’s worth mentioning here is that your claim will be approved over the telephone; no more waiting for that pesky form to come through the letter box!

So, there are some of the benefits on offer with a Sheilas’ Wheels car insurance policy. Some of them are directed at ladies specifically (otherwise what would be the point of the company name) however, there are options for men as well. For us ladies however, you don’t just get a car insurance policy with Sheilas’ Wheels you get some handy tips on how to keep your car safe and keep criminals at bay. Plus, I have to admit that us girls are not the best when it comes to the technical stuff with our vehicles, if someone says “oil change” to me I tend to drop off right away. With Sheilas’ Wheels you will get great tips on how to fix the more simple problems that can occur with your car. After all, it’s in their interest for you to be able to top up the oil in your car or fill the water tank for the windscreen wipers.

As I write the last paragraph of this article I have the Sheilas’ Wheels ad jingle in my head and, do you know what? I don’t mind. I think this company is a really fabulous option for car insurance and it makes me, as a woman feel much appreciated when it comes to being rewarded for being a far safer option for car insurance.

John Lewis Car Insurance Review

John Lewis Car Insurance

Some of your reading this who are of a “certain” age may well be surprised to learn that John Lewis offer car insurance policies these days. After all, this company has always been considered as one of the more up market department stores in the UK, (visits reserved for most of us at Christmas or when shopping for a special birthday present)!

They have long been synonymous with all types of products that include clothing, home-ware and electricals to name but a few. But John Lewis car insurance who would have thought it! Now, some of you may be thinking that companies should stick to what they know best. However, John Lewis has an awful lot of “clout” when it comes to expertise so they can afford to employ the best in their field! That’s why I think they’re definitely worthy of a look if you’re want to start a new car insurance policy or need to renew and would prefer a different company.

Types of Car Insurance Policies Available

First of all, it’s important to remember that not all companies will offer you “pure” third party only cover anymore however, John Lewis are different. With them, you can opt to have this one, Third Party Fire and Theft or Fully Comprehensive.

Of course, it goes without saying that in this day and age you should, where possible always opt for a fully comprehensive policy. These days, taking to the road can be a little, shall we say, “Dicey”. For the most part, many of us won’t experience a major accident, but little problems can occur and that’s where a fully comprehensive car insurance policy comes in VERY handy!

So let’s start with those of you who are looking at the more basic car insurance available:

Third Party Only

Below is what you get for this bargain policy:

  • Liabilities to Third Parties – Confused what this means? Let me explain. Basically, if you’re unfortunate enough to be liable for the injury or, (let’s hope not) the death of a person, you’ll be covered. This also extends to any damage caused. Do remember though, because you’re paying for third party only there will be restrictions so make sure you get the amount you can claim in writing before your policy starts.

  • Using Your Car Overseas – Legal liability to others you may have a problem with on the road will be covered under this level of car insurance with John Lewis. However, don’t think you can meander your way down to the Sahara desert to take in the scenery! You will only be covered for up to 90 days in European countries (or Non-European as pre-agreed).

  • No Claims Discount and Protection – Ah Ha! The wonderful no claims discount! John Lewis are not about punishing you because you can only afford to pay for a bargain car insurance policy, so they will give you no claims discount and protection with this one.

Third Party Fire and Theft

It goes without saying that whatever you get with Third Party Only car insurance policies John Lewis has to offer, you will also get with other levels. So, if you’ve skipped straight to this section it might be worth having a look above or you could miss some of the benefits!

So, what else do you get with this level? Let’s see.

  • Fire and Theft – It would be pretty silly not to include this since that’s what this car policy is based on! As with any car insurance company, there are some things not covered. So, if you think you might get a new CD player when there wasn’t one there before, think again!

The Comprehensive Car Insurance Policy

As we all know, any company that insures cars will advise it’s best to take out a fully comprehensive policy, and with good reason! There are so many benefits included in the policy available from John Lewis; it’s easier to give you a quick bullet list instead!

  • All of the above (of course).
  • Car Damage
  • Broken windows or your windscreen
  • Medical and personal accident expenses
  • Personal belongings
  • Personal accident costs
  • Replacement locks

The Little Extras

It doesn’t stop there with a John Lewis car insurance policy! If you prove you can be a careful driver, they will reward you with a no claims discount of up to 75%, and in some cases you’ll even get to protect it. Courtesy cars are provided should you need one, and if you need to be somewhere fast after an accident, the company will kindly pay your taxi fare!

Other optional extras include breakdown cover for your car which includes both roadside and home rescue assistance, and excess protection.

The Best until Last!

There was no point in starting this article with the offer John Lewis currently has. After all, the purpose here is to give you some information on what you can expect from a practical point of view. However, I couldn’t finish without mentioning the fact you could win a 5 door Golf Match 1.4 and get this! You also get a choice of metallic paint! Before you get too excited, this is a competition and you’ll be entered into the prize draw if you decide to take a policy before 31st October 2014. Oh, and if you are lucky enough to win you won’t have to worry about insuring the car because John Lewis will give you it free for the first year!

Overall

John Lewis may not be the obvious choice for a lot of people looking for a car insurance policy, but as with everything-else this company does – they’re doing it well! In my humble opinion, I think this company is well worth a look before you decide which car insurance policy will work best for you.

You can also get a number of additional discounts for things like applying online or adding a new customer to your existing policy. Plus, their customer service division gets some pretty great feedback too!

Churchill Car Insurance Review

Do you like Bulldogs? If so then you will love the advertisements that you see on television for Churchill car insurance. This loveable little character has become a household name across the UK and I take my hat off to the firm that came up with this advertisement campaign. I’ll bet that Churchill car insurance policies are being taken out in their droves due to this successful ad. If you go on to their website, you will find that it is easy to use and it’s quick and simple to get a quote for a car insurance policy.

Some of the Benefits that Churchill Car Insurance Offers

  • Protection from uninsured drivers – this is an inherent problem in the UK right now, many people think they can get away without car insurance. If you happen to be in an accident that involves someone that is not insured, Churchill’s car insurance policies will protect you from this and your no claims discount will not be affected.
  • If you decide to have named drivers on your car insurance policy they will be able to have their own no claims discount. This is something that is relatively new to the car insurance market and Churchill has been quick to catch on to this.
  • If you have a fully comprehensive car insurance policy with Churchill you will benefit from their 24 hour a day accident/recovery hotline. This means that no matter what time of day it is you will be able to speak to a real person on the telephone in order to get help.
  • If you find that you need to have repairs done to your car as a result of an accident or vandalism Churchill will cover the costs under your car insurance policy. Do bear in mind however, that this is only available if you take out a fully comprehensive car insurance policy.
  • Should you be involved in an accident that means your car needs completely replacing then Churchill will cover the cost for this if your car is under 12 months old and you can prove that you are registered keeper.
  • With Churchill, if you have a fully comprehensive car insurance policy, they offer personal accident cover for you and your partner, wife or husband.
  • If you happen to be in an accident and you incur medical expenses you will not need to worry about how you are going to cover the cost, Churchill will do it all for you. This is a great option and proves that Churchill have recognised that being in an accident can be traumatic for anyone and the last thing you need to be worrying about is how you are going to pay your medical bills.
  • Everyone carries personal belongings with them when they are in their car, especially us ladies, Churchill offer cover for personal belongings within your vehicle with their car insurance policy, however, there are limits so if you decide to carry around that gold bullion you have just “acquired” it is unlikely that you will get the value of this back if it’s lost or stolen!

Optional Extras that you can get with Churchill Car Insurance

The optional extras detailed below will cost you extra nonetheless, they are worth considering:

  • For an additional £2.21 per month you can benefit from legal assistance with Churchill. They will provide you with up £100,000 worth of legal expenses. Some of the things that you will find are covered with this optional extra are:
  • If you happen to be injured or in the worst case scenario are killed in a road accident Churchill will pay compensation to you or your spouse for this.
  • If you do not decide to take out a fully comprehensive car insurance policy with Churchill you can still benefit from cover with repair costs for just a little bit extra each month. I happen to think that this is a great idea, not everyone wants or needs a fully comprehensive car insurance policy and the fact that you can choose to have this sort of cover as an optional extra is fabulous. The other thing you can choose if you don’t have a fully comprehensive car insurance policy is protection for your clothing, personal belongings or luggage.
  • Costs for hire cars and also loss of earnings are another of the optional extras that Churchill can offer you.

All this said you can pretty much make up your own car insurance policy with Churchill; they know that car insurance is big business and is also a very competitive market. Plus, they also know that everyone is different and we all want different things from our car insurance policy.

Churchill Car Insurance for Ladies

This type of car insurance policy has (as the above subtitle suggests) been designed specifically for ladies. You may be asking yourself why, well, the fact is that we ladies are a far safer bet when it comes to being on the road. We tend to be far more careful when we are driving compared to our male counterparts. As a lady, if you take out a car insurance policy with Churchill you will get all of the benefits listed in this article plus…get this…..you can save over £400! This is possibly one of the largest savings available from any of the major car insurance companies. Bear in mind that you can also add you partner or husband to your car insurance policy which means that you will both save money.

Multi-Car Insurance with Churchill

Churchill offer multi-car insurance policies, this is not uncommon in the car insurance market however, the discounts that you can get with Churchill if you want to take out a multi-car insurance policy are less common. They will offer you 15% discount in the first year of your policy and 5% every year thereafter. Do remember that should you be with Churchill for a number of years you may well be able to better this should it be time for you to renew your policy and have found a better deal elsewhere. However, for now, don’t be greedy, these discounts are some of the best to be had right now.

Some Great Advice from Churchill on how to stop Fraudulent Claims

I was on Churchill’s website recently and I found a snippet of information that I have found really useful. We all know “ambulance chasers” as they are lovingly referred to and they help people who are genuinely hurt in an accident to claim compensation for the injuries they suffer. Unfortunately, this has also brought along a number of undesirables that have decided that they can make money by deliberately causing accidents. I happen to think I am a good person and it had never occurred to me that this might happen to me.

Churchill are working with various official bodies in order to stop this from happening, here is some of the advice that they offer in order for you to ensure that you do not become a victim of this type of “crime”. I use the term crime loosely; there is a very fine line here on this type of con!

  • This is an obvious one but if you are involved in an accident make sure that you stay calm and exchange details with the other driver.
  • Try to remember how the accident came about and if there was anything that seemed out of place or odd to you. Things like passengers looking at you before you were actually hit is quite an obvious thing to look for, this tells you that the accident may well have been pre-meditated.
  • This is something I have never thought about doing if I was involved in a car accident – make sure that you take as many notes as possible about the driver and passengers; what they are wearing, are they male or female, how old are they and anything else that you can think of.
  • Make sure that you ask the other driver to do the same as you.

Remember, car insurance is there to protect you and I think the fact that Churchill has posted this information on their website is great. It’s always better to have too much information rather than not enough. It’s hard to imagine but it is a cruel world and there are people that have no scruples, so if you are involved in a car accident, don’t let your good nature get in the way.

I hope this article has not only explained what Churchill car insurance can do for you but also that you have found some of the safety information here useful as well. It’s great that a car insurance company such as Churchill have taken the initiative, they are not only offering great car insurance policies, they are thinking outside of the box by letting their customers know some of the pitfalls when it comes to accidents. “Oh Yes” Choose Churchill!

Direct Line Car Insurance Review

Direct Line is probably one of the largest companies that offer all types of car insurance in the UK. If you are in the market for car insurance and are one of those people that is addicted to price comparison websites, be sure to know that you will not find Direct Line on any of those sites. However, feel free to fill your boots and obtain quotes from these sorts of websites, Direct Line advertise the fact that they will beat any quote that you have found there! If you’re about to embark upon looking for car insurance you will no doubt be aware that this can be a potential pain in the proverbial. Car insurance can be very complicated and there are literally hundreds of different policies you can choose from. In this article, I intend to make clear what some of the car insurance policies Direct Line have to help you get started.

Some of the Extras Direct Line Car Insurance Offer

  • Compensation if you are hit by a driver that is uninsured and the accident is not your fault – Direct Line is one of the first car insurance companies to recognise that this is a growing problem within the UK. They offer, as part of your policy, a system whereby you are able to claim for being hit by an uninsured driver and you will not lose your no claims bonus. There are conditions however, these are: you should ensure that you get the registration number of the car that hit you and also the make and model, if possible the drivers details (don’t worry about this point), many uninsured drivers are happy to pass their details on after an accident as they think they will get away with it anyway.
  • Compensation for vandalism to your car – Again, this is an innovative extra that you can get from Direct Line, I actually don’t know of any other company that offers this service. If you are a victim of vandalism to your vehicle you can claim for the damage and, here is the best bit, this cover comes as standard and will not affect your no claims discount. Not only that, if you use one of Direct Line’s preferred repairers, they will make sure that your vehicle is cleaned from top to bottom, inside and out! Be aware however, that certain conditions do apply, you will need to make sure that you have reported the incident to the police and can prove it and that the damage was not caused by another car, this of course would be dealt with on a different part of your car insurance policy.

Direct Line have recognised that people want value for money as well as great car insurance policies so you will find that they offer a huge range of discounts on all types of car insurance policies. Here are some of them:

No Claims Discount for Company Cars

If you are a new customer to Direct Line and have recently given up a company car that you have not had to make a claim on, Direct Line will offer you a discount on up to 5 years of no claims discount, this is available on any type of car insurance policy that you take up with Direct Line. However, you will need to prove that you were the sole driver of the company car in question….not much to ask if you want my opinion, 5 years no claims discount can amount to an awful lot of money.

Discount on Multi-Car Policies

Many car insurance companies charge you extra for registering an additional car insurance policy with them, not Direct Line; they actually save you money if you take out a car insurance policy on more than one vehicle with them. You will receive a discount of 10% on the 1st year and 5% for each year that you renew thereafter. I doubt there is another company in the UK that can offer this. Conditions do apply but they don’t exactly ask for your shoe size! All you need to do is make sure that you can give the company the number of your current agreement, it’s that simple.

Other discounts available when it comes to multi-car insurance policies are breakdown cover; you can save up to an amazing 35% on breakdown cover with Direct Line when you have a multi-car policy. If you are new to the company you are not penalised for being a “newbie” you also can save up to 25% when including breakdown cover on your car insurance policy.

Pass Plus

This will interest all of you that have recently passed your driving test. Many people in their late teens or early to mid 20’s are considered to be a huge risk by most car insurance companies. The reason behind this is obvious, the statistics show that if you are in this bracket of driver that you are far more likely to have an accident than any other bracket of driver. We have to recognise that insurance companies need to make a profit in order to continually offer a service to their customers.

Direct Line have gone one better with this car insurance policy. Basically, if you have passed your test in less than one year you will be given a 5% discount on any car insurance policy you take out with them. Do bear in mind however, that you will be better off going for a fully comprehensive policy – this isn’t something that Direct Line advise it’s just that I was once in my late teens and driving was a new hobby to me…..believe me, I remember some of the scrapes I got into because I was just too over excited about being able to drive without an instructor constantly nagging at me!

Other Great Discounts to be had from Direct Line

Direct Line is very clever when it comes to ensuring that they gain as much business from each customer as possible. If you know Direct Line, you will be aware that they are not limited to offering insurance just for cars. AA Car Insurance Review

AA is possibly one of the oldest car insurance companies in the UK. I don’t know of anyone who does not know about the AA. They are masters in their field when it comes to car insurance. They currently have millions of people that are members of the AA and many of those people have been with the company for a number of years now. If you are in the market for car insurance, you should most definitely check out the AA. Their customer service is outstanding and the systems they have in place to make sure that you get the best from your car insurance policy are some of the best you will find in the UK.

Reasons to back up why you should use AA Car Insurance

  • Defaqto awarded the AA a 5 star rating when it comes to the car insurance policies that they offer. This is one of the highest awards you can receive as a car insurance company. This award alone proves that the service AA offer is amongst the best in the UK.
  • When you take out a car insurance policy with the AA, they have a rewards system for their members. If you like statistics, get this one….the AA’s reward system saved their members over £4.5 million in the year of 2010!
  • If you are a new customer to the AA and are thinking about taking a car insurance policy out with them then you will be offered 1 year free on their breakdown cover; this alone can save you a fair few hundreds of pounds.
  • You can be safe in the knowledge that the AA know what they’re doing when it comes to car insurance; here’s another statistic for you….they have had over 5 million new car insurance policies taken out with them in the past 5 years!
  • If you are already a member of the AA then you probably know this already but for those of you that don’t did you know that you can get up to £500 to cover your personal belongings in you car. This is double what is offered with their standard car insurance policies.

AA and their Drive Safe System

I happen to think that this is a really fantastic idea. Get this; when you take out a car insurance policy with the AA and you opt to join up to the drive safe system, the AA will install a box into your car. This box measures how safely you drive. The safer you drive, the more points you earn. The more points you earn the more discounts you will receive throughout the year of your policy. Not only that but if you opt to join this system when you take out a new car insurance policy you will also receive a discount when you sign up.

Who can join the Drive Safe System?

That’s easy….anyone! For all parents out there that have children that have just passed their test and now allowed to be left to their own devices when out on the road; why not join them up to this scheme. It will not only teach them how important it is to drive safely but it will also give you as the parent more piece of mind when they are out in their car. This system is also especially useful for people that are currently paying higher premiums due to driving convictions or the fact that they just keep bashing up their car.

What you get with Drive Safe

When you join up to this system you will benefit from the following:

  • Of course you will save money and be able to get the premium rate you currently pay down to a reasonable level if you are paying more than you should for the reasons given above.
  • An anti-theft tracker will also be installed at the same time as the box and this will not cost you a penny.
  • With the box, you will also get a monitor that sits on your dashboard so you know how safely you are driving.
  • A claim line that is available to you 24 hours per day 7 days a week.
  • If you need repairs doing to your car, the AA will provide you with a replacement vehicle until your own car is ready.

I have mentioned this system first in this article as, in my opinion this is one of the most innovative ideas I have come across when looking for car insurance. The AA have managed to combine the fact that they want less people claiming on their policies, ensure that you as the customer save money and also educate people on how to drive more safely.

Now, onto the other car insurance policies that you can get with the AA; the AA is one of the few companies in the UK that still offer Third Party car insurance. If you decide on this type of car insurance policy you will expect to get the following:

  • A 24 hour hotline that is available 365 days per year so if you need to make a claim, you don’t have to worry about when you can call.
  • Protection from damage to your car if someone decides that it might be a good idea to run their key over your nice paint work.
  • Costs will be covered for any medical treatment that you might need due to an accident.
  • If you have a car sharing scheme then you this type of insurance policy will cover you.
  • No Claims Discount – of course!
  • If you want to travel abroad the AA will cover you for 90 days, however this is only if you are in Europe.
  • Your car will be covered by your insurance policy if you leave it in the hands of another professional such as a mechanic or hotel employee that parks your car for you.

The 2nd type of car insurance policy that you can purchase from the AA is Third Party Fire and Theft. The benefits you can expect to get with this policy are as follows:

  • Everything that you get with a Third Party car insurance policy.
  • Damage caused by theft or fire (otherwise what would be the point of the title of the policy)!
  • The AA will replace your keys and locks for you but this is limited to £1,000 and only comes into play if you need them replacing due to fire or theft. If you go for this type of car insurance, don’t lose your keys.
  • If you have a child’s seat, the AA will replace it for you but again this is only if you need it replacing due to fire or theft.

Lastly, the 3rd car insurance policy that you can have with the AA is fully comprehensive. Ok, this will cost you a bit more, nevertheless, with things the way they are on the road today, this is the one I would go for. The benefits you get with this type of car insurance are as follows:

  • Everything you get with their 3rd Party and Third Party Fire and Theft policies.
  • Accidental damage to you car is covered by this insurance policy.
  • If you need repairs doing to your car and you use one of the AA’s approved repairers, they will provide you with a courtesy car.
  • If you need any windows, windscreen or sunroof replacing, you will be covered for this and it won’t affect your No Claims Discount.
  • Your personal belongings are protected up to the value of £250, except if you are and AA member in which case you will receive double that amount.
  • If you have a trailer, this will also be protected under your car insurance policy. The limit here is £500 for a single axle trailer.
  • You will receive up to £5,000 worth of compensation should you are your partner be injured or die in an accident. Be aware here, that should you become an AA member, this amount rises to £7,500.
  • Medical expenses are also covered up to the value of £400 for non AA members, for AA members this raises to £500.
  • The AA will provide you with overnight accommodation or transport to your destination; this is limited to £300 per person or a maximum of £500 for everyone that is travelling.

The above information is a lot to take in; however, I have tried to explain it as clearly as possible. Not everything that the AA has to offer with their car insurance policies has been included. If I did include everything, you would still be reading this in another 12 hours from now….that or you would fall asleep!

I think the AA is one of the best car insurance companies to be found in the UK. Believe me, you will not far wrong with a car insurance policy from them.

Tesco Car Insurance Review

If someone had said to me 20 years ago that a supermarket would be offering car insurance, I would have laughed in their faces! However, I would now have egg on my face because you can get Tesco car insurance. Large supermarket chains such as Tesco have really branched out over the years and because these companies are so large they can really compete with the big boys. This article will tell you all you need to know about Tesco car insurance and why it’s not such a bad idea to use them.

First of all, if you like price comparison websites you will find that if you are searching for a car insurance policy Tesco will pop up all over the place. They certainly appear to come top on most of these sites, however, my advice is to go to their official website and check out exactly what you can get with a car insurance policy first. There are some stipulations that Tesco have in place with their car insurance policies and these are:

  • You must be over 18 (sorry first time drivers) and you must also have a full driving licence that is registered in the UK.
  • You need to be a permanent resident in the UK and have a fixed address.
  • If you have a classic car, Tesco car insurance is not for you. They will only insure cars that are no more than 16 years old. For all of you “monster truck” lovers out there, beware, Tesco will not insure any car that is over 18 feet in length.

Some of these stipulations may seem a little harsh however I like their honesty. There is nothing worse than going through all of the hassle of getting a quote only to find that you can’t actually take out a car insurance policy with your chosen company. Upon researching the Tesco car insurance they have to offer, I found that there is quite a lot to choose from, in fact, if you want to, you can pretty much make up your own policy. For the purpose of this article I am going to stick to the basics, just so you know what you can expect to get without all the frills.

Value Tesco Car Insurance

  • If you wish to purchase this type of car insurance policy with Tesco then you will only be able to online.
  • Excess on accidental damage with this policy is limited to £475.
  • You will be covered for your car and other cars should you be involved in an accident.
  • Personal accident cover is available with this type of Tesco car insurance policy.
  • You will be covered for fire and theft.
  • A 24 hour helpline is available to you and this is based in the UK.
  • When it comes to excess you can choose a level that suits you.
  • Discounts are available on repairs and servicing but only if you use Halfords Service Centres.
  • If you wish to take a trip around Europe and want to take your car, with this type of Tesco car insurance you will be covered for up to 90 days; why not take that trip through the Alps that you have been promising yourself? You will be safe in the knowledge that your car insurance policy will cover you.
  • For all of you parents out there that have children that require a child seat, don’t worry, Tesco will replace if for you should it be damaged. I happen to think this is a great option as not many other car insurance companies offer this sort of cover.
  • Legal Protection is also available with this type of Tesco car insurance policy.
  • For cars only, if you need to have repairs done then Tesco will provide you with a small courtesy car (note the word “small” here).
  • When you use one of Tesco’s preferred repairers they will guarantee the work that has been done for 3 years.

Standard Tesco Car Insurance Policy

This type of policy actually brings more benefits with it than the value insurance policy. With this type of car insurance policy you will receive all of the benefits listed above and…..

  • Cover for your personal possessions should they be damaged or stolen.
  • Should your windscreen decide to shatter into a million pieces or even if it has a chip and needs replacing Tesco will cover you for this.
  • Oh, and I almost forgot, if you wish to purchase this type of Tesco car insurance policy then you can do so online or over the telephone.

These are the 2 car insurance policies I was immediately faced with when I went to Tesco’s official website, after some more digging around I found out the following:

Tesco Car Insurance and Breakdown Cover

Tesco have brought in the RAC when it comes to their breakdown cover. If you don’t know who the RAC are then I doubt that you even know what a car is! This company has the largest network of breakdown recovery vehicles in the UK and fixes 4 out of 5 vehicles at the roadside. This of course will not be the case if your front end has been bashed in, in which case, you will need to be towed. Some of the benefits you will receive when you add this option to your Tesco car insurance policy are as follows:

  • If you are in a vulnerable situation, for instance a woman travelling alone and you breakdown you will be given priority response.
  • Tesco will aim to make sure that an RAC mechanic will be with you within 40 minutes, no matter whether you are in a built up area or in the countryside.
  • You will not have to pay any labour costs or the cost of any parts and one of the best things about this cover is that you will not have to pay for a new battery if that turns out to be the problem. This is one of the most common causes for a breakdown and not many car insurance companies offer this as free service if you have breakdown cover with them.
  • Once you have reached more than a ¼ of a mile from your home then you will be able to call for roadside assistance.
  • If you have any other Tesco car insurance policy except their value cover you can get assistance within a ¼ of a mile from your home.
  • For the “finest” and “Euro Plus” breakdown cover policies, if your car cannot be repaired at the roadside then they will ensure that you and up to 8 passengers are either taken home or to another address.
  • Something called onward travel is also available with the finest and Euro Plus policies. This means that you will be able to hire a car at no cost, or Tesco will pay for any travel expenses. They will also pay for any hotel accommodation if that is what you need.
  • European cover is only available with the Euro Plus policy and this means that should you breakdown whilst you are on your way to Europe or are actually in Europe, Tesco will make sure that you have roadside assistance. If that doesn’t work then they will take your car to the nearest garage for repair. If you need it, hotel accommodation will be provided for you or Tesco will provide you with some other form of transport.
  • Legal expenses are also covered with the Euro Plus breakdown policy, however, do be aware that there are certain rules that apply with this (and I’m not going to go into all of them here) so, make sure that you ask about this information when you are talking to Tesco about this part of your car insurance policy.

Considering that Tesco is in all intense and purposes a supermarket, I think that their car insurance policies are great. They have really done their research and are competing well with other major companies that specialise in car insurance. The one thing that might be catching your eye as you read this is your Tesco club card. I bet you thought that I had forgotten about that one; well I haven’t.

If you are a Tesco club card member, you can put this little piece of plastic to work for you when you decide to take out a Tesco car insurance policy. If you apply online, all you need to do is enter your card number and you will be given an additional discount. Also, when it comes to paying for your car insurance you can use your Tesco club card vouchers in order to do this. I think this is a very clever idea; not only do Tesco get your car insurance business they are also managing to keep you shopping at their supermarket. After all, every little helps doesn’t it?

Esure Car Insurance Review

As the name of the company Esure suggests; this is an online car insurance company. Before starting this article I didn’t really know much about them other than the fact that they appear on the TV ads from time to time. I’m glad that I have done some research for 2 reasons:

  1. How an earth could I write this article without it!
  2. I have discovered that Esure car insurance is actually a pretty good company to go for if you are in the market for a new or renewable car insurance policy.

When you load their webpage it is set out in a really simple and clean way and it’s easy to find the information that you want before actually asking them for a quote, which incidentally can be done online and within minutes. I’m a bit of an anorak when it comes to making sure that I know everything about a company before I choose to use them; especially if they operate online. When I clicked into the frequently asked questions on Esure’s website I was faced with up to 23 different questions that all have comprehensive answers to them. Here are a chosen few to show you just how good this section of the Esure car insurance website is:

  1. Is it possible for Esure to insure me? This is a question (in my opinion) that everyone should find out the answer to before going down the route of obtaining a quote. This is most important if you happen to be in your late teens or are in your twilight years. The answer from Esure is simple; you can get a car insurance policy with them if you are aged 21 to 80. However, if you fall outside of this age bracket they will refer you to a company that can help. I thought this was very generous of them as most other car insurance companies just say “no” and leave it at that.
  2. What if you don’t have a registration number? This actually happened to me recently which is why I am glad I have been asked to write this article. I’ve been having some real bother trying to find a car insurance company that will give me a quote without a registration number. You may well be thinking “why an earth are you looking for a car insurance policy without a registration number”? Well, the answer to that one is that I am thinking about changing my current vehicle and the cost of the insurance for the new one will determine which model I go for; I’m sure there are many of you that will make the decision on a new car in the same way. Esure car insurance recognises that this can happen and will happily give you a quote without a registration number.
  3. How do you pay for your car insurance policy? Well, with Esure car insurance, the sky is the limit really. You can choose to pay by credit card, direct debit and you can even pay online using their own protected payment server (sorry, that last one got a bit technical) but I’m sure you get the idea. When it comes to how much you pay, again, this is up to you. You can pay the whole lot in one go so you don’t have to worry about it again until it’s time to renew your car insurance policy or you can pay in instalments which are spread across 12 months.
  4. Do you need to prove your no claims discount? Of course you do! I found this question slightly obscure as I can’t understand why anyone would feel the need to ask but there you go Esure obviously felt the need to add this one to their list.
  5. What about no claims discount for life? Now, this one I can understand people asking. There are certain conditions that apply and this will cost you a little but extra however, as far as I am concerned this is definitely worth considering. Esure car insurance will protect your no claims discount for life (unlike many other car insurance companies) and it doesn’t matter how many claims you make. Do bear in mind that this snippet of information has been condensed into a few sentences and that you should make sure you understand the requirements to benefit from this under your car insurance policy. After all, I haven’t been asked to write a legal document about how Esure car insurance works!

So, those are just a select few of what you can expect to find on the FAQ section of the Esure car insurance website. What I am going to deal with next is just what you get with an Esure car insurance policy. Here goes, by the way, the benefits listed below come as standard with an Esure car insurance policy.

  1. If you are new customer to Esure, they will give you a discount when you take out a car insurance policy with them.
  2. If your car is involved in a smash and needs to be repaired, Esure will give you a courtesy car to use whilst yours is in the garage. However, make sure that you use one of the garages that Esure recommends.
  3. Windscreens can be a right pain in the proverbial, they are exposed to stones flying up from the road and they chip and not only that once you have a chip you are at risk of your windscreen shattering. If you need to replace your windscreen Esure will do this for you under your car insurance policy and there will be no excess to pay. Again, you will have to use one of their preferred windscreen replacement companies.
  4. No claims discount for life aside, under an Esure standard car insurance policy, you will have the option to build up as much as 75%
  5. Esure car insurance proudly announces that their call centres are based in the UK, so no more problems with a language barrier!

Those are the benefits you can expect to achieve as standard when you take out and Esure car insurance policy. It doesn’t stop there, there is more! Here is a list of some of the optional extras that you can take out with them:

  1. Assistance when you breakdown – Esure advertises the fact that they use Green Flag for this part of their car insurance policy. This is a trusted name throughout the UK and they have been saving people from breakdowns for over 40 years now. When you add this to your car insurance policy you can expect to get the following:
  • On average the response time will be about 40 minutes, for those of you that are more vulnerable, Esure will do their best to make sure that you are a priority.
  • If a mechanic doesn’t make an appearance within 1 hour, you will get £10 back by way of an apology.
  • It will not matter what time of day or what time of year it is, you will be able to call for breakdown assistance; Green Flag operates 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

There are many other options that come with this part of Esure’s car insurance policy, however, I have just noticed that I am running out of the number of words I’m allowed to use here and need to tell you a bit more about what else you can benefit from when you have an Esure car insurance policy.

  1. Legal Protection – This is an important part of any car insurance policy if you ask me. You may not know but it is possible for you to have an accident that is not your fault and still find that you have to reach for your wallet. If you add this to your car insurance policy Esure will protect you from this situation to the tune of £50,000! This includes covering any excess, solicitor’s fees, personal expenses (within reason of course), uninsured losses, loss of earnings and any expenses that may arise should you need to go to a tribunal or court.
  2. Personal Injury – Now this part of Esure’s car insurance policy I really like. If you, your passengers, any named driver or your partner are injured in your car Esure will cover the costs. Not only that and, this is the best bit…..you will also be covered if you happen to be injured as a passenger in someone else’s vehicle! I honestly do not know of any other car insurance company that will do this.

I could go on about Esure and their car insurance policies; however, I hope this article has given you an insight into what they can do for you when it comes to choosing a car insurance policy. Why not take a look at their official website today? I’m sure that like me, you will be impressed with both the price and the benefits you can receive.

NatWest Car Insurance Review

If you are looking for car insurance and happen to bank with NatWest, you’re in luck. Many banks have recognised that they can offer other services than just keeping you money safe and, in today’s economic climate they have had to look for other ways in which they can make a bit of cash for themselves. NatWest is now possibly one of the oldest banks in the UK and the fact that they have managed to pretty much stay out of the news when the media decide to start to pick on the banking world is testament to the fact that they know what they’re doing.
You may, at this point be thinking that “putting all of your eggs in one basket” is not such a good thing at the moment, however, if you are currently a customer with NatWest then it’s worth looking at the benefits they can offer you with car insurance. After all, a bank account and a car insurance policy is hardly keeping everything in one place now is it? By the way, if you’re not currently a customer with NatWest you’re not excluded, you can take out a car insurance policy with them and reap the benefits because you are a new customer. The aim of the game for this bank is to have as many customers as possible in order for them to be able to continue to give the excellent service they have been offering for many years now.
So, what do you get with a NatWest car insurance policy; the answer? Plenty, in fact more than enough to ensure that you will be well looked after if you run into any trouble when you are on the road and, at competitive prices too. Here are some of the benefits you can expect to receive when you take out a car insurance policy with NatWest:
• Recovery for uninsured drivers – This is a massive problem in the UK, largely due to the fact that there are many people that use the roads but don’t understand that they need to be insured as a legal requirement. That said there are also plenty of undesirables that think that they can just get away without paying for insurance.

Companies such as NatWest have recognised that this is an issue and now offer, as standard, protection from these people. If you are hit or are in an accident with someone who is not insured, a NatWest car insurance policy will make sure that you do not lose your no claims discount. It doesn’t stop there; they will also make sure that you are covered for up to £100,000 should you need to make a claim for personal injury (that’s an article for another day)! Do bear in mind however; that you need to be under a fully comprehensive insurance policy and that the accident is not your fault. After all, how could NatWest make any money from their car insurance policies if everyone goes on the rampage and decides to seek out those that are not insured and start to ram them off the road!
• You and your partner or spouse can expect to receive up to £5,000 of personal cover if you are involved in a traffic accident. This is an amount that will cover pretty much most expenses when or if you have an accident and the fact that your partner is covered is an added bonus. For all those ladies out there that have “boy racers” in their lives; this part of the NatWest car insurance policy should make you feel a bit better about life when they zip out of the driveway in the mornings.
• If your car needs to go in for repairs due to and accident then if you use a repairer that has been approved by NatWest, you will receive a replacement vehicle for the duration of the repairs; not only that but you can expect to have your car collected from where ever it landed up and delivered back to your home address. Plus, those dear old mechanics will clean your car inside and out for you….no oily finger prints or stains on the carpets when you get your car back!
• If your windscreen or any of the windows on your car need replacing, this will be covered by a NatWest car insurance policy. However, this is only available if you have a fully comprehensive policy and you will still be liable for the excess.
• For those of you out there that like to drive so that you can blast out the latest tunes through your audio equipment and give the odd pensioner a near heart attack you will get cover for your audio equipment of up to £1,000 with a NatWest car insurance policy.
• If you need assistance at the roadside, NatWest can help with the car insurance policy that they offer. This part of their policy is completely optional and you will be looked after by Green Flag. Not only that, you’ll receive “mates rates” when it comes to using them.
• Should you need to make a claim then your NatWest car insurance policy will give you the ability to do this 365 days per year 24 hours per day.

So, if you happen to be in an accident on New Years Eve, you will still be able to start your claim with one simple phone call to their helpline.
For those of you that Already Bank with the NatWest
The information I have provided so far in this article has been for everyone, whether you bank with NatWest or not. However, if you’re already a customer then there are some extra benefits available if you take out a car insurance policy with them. Nothing like making you feel a bit special now is there? Listed below are some of the benefits that NatWest offers its existing customers:
• Currently, if you go to NatWest’s official website and apply online for a car insurance policy, you will receive a discount of 15% on your 1st year. Do be aware though that you have to enter a promotional code which the IT guys at NatWest have kindly put in bold on the website so that you don’t miss it.
• If you’re currently a customer with NatWest, you will know that they have different types of bank accounts; these are Silver, gold and black advantage accounts or, advantage private accounts. If you are lucky enough to be one those people that have this type of account then you can get an additional 10% off the 1st year when you take out a car insurance policy; this means that you can make a saving of up to 25%. Not many other car insurance companies can boast this and I’ll bet you would be hard pressed to find another bank that can!
• Perhaps you have home insurance with NatWest; you guys have not been left out either. If you take out a car insurance policy with them, they will give you a 10% discount on your 1st year.
• When it comes to no claims discounts you can expect to get up to 65% and if your are over the age of 50 this will rise to 70%….simply because those of you that are older are considered to be safer drivers.
These are just some of the benefits that you can expect to achieve when you take out a NatWest car insurance policy. If you thought that banks were not the way to go when taking out a car insurance policy then think again. NatWest have been offering these sorts of policies for sometime now and I don’t know of anyone that is not happy when it comes to the service that they offer. Ok, so if you have a bank account or home insurance policy then the benefits you receive out way those than if you don’t but that’s only fair isn’t it? At the end of the day, if you are current NatWest customer you wouldn’t be too happy if “newbie’s” where receiving the same sort of attention as you.
NatWest have also made it very easy for anyone to apply for a car insurance policy, you can get a quote online from their official website, or you can find them on many price comparison websites. If you prefer the personal touch then why not go to your local branch. For those of you that have little spare time to visit a branch then you can call them up; you will find their staff friendly and knowledgeable.
NatWest are not just helpful when it comes to banking, they are also helpful when it comes to a new car insurance policy. Why not give them a call today and see if they can beat your latest renewal quote? Whether you are a new customer or an existing customer NatWest will do what they can to make sure you get the right policy.

Admiral Car Insurance Review

We all know the ad on T.V. for Admiral Car Insurance and if you don’t well, you probably don’t watch television! It’s slightly irritating for some of us. I mean who thought of advertising insurance using cheap looking little Russian dolls! But just because it seems like the marketing department signed on the dotted line after a “liquid” lunch (and a long one at that), it doesn’t mean that what this company has to offer isn’t something that could really save you money.

For a start Admiral has thought about everyone, it doesn’t matter if you’re young, on the slightly more mature end of life, want a policy of your own or a multi-car policy this company has something to offer. Plus, they’ve remembered the magic word – no not please or thank you – discounts!

So, let’s start with the benefits you can receive when you take out a motor insurance policy with Admiral:

  • Courtesy Cars – If your car needs to go to a garage Admiral will give you a car so you can still get around while yours is being repaired. However, this doesn’t mean you can send it off to your mates place so they get a bit of extra business, you will need to use one of Admiral’s approved garages.
  • No Claims Bonuses – Unlike like a lot of other companies on the market, Admiral offers a no claims discount system to ALL named drivers on your motor policy.
  • Legal Expenses – This is something we all need these days when looking for a motor policy (there are a lot of people on the roads just waiting to make a claim against you), so Admiral will give you up to £100,000 to help cover this.
  • Personal Injury Cover – God Forbid you should need this, but it is worth having and this company will give you £5,000 if you suffer some sort of personal injury.
  • European Cover – OK, so you only get 90 days worth of cover if you’re in Europe, that’s no surprise because lot’s of insurers offer this BUT the difference with Admiral is this is offered with all their policies.
  • Windscreen Cover – Again, no surprise but worth mentioning and you will have to pay an excess.
  • Car Stereo Cover – Amazing isn’t it how stereos seem to attract so many would-be thieves? Well, that’s why Admiral will cover you for up to £1,250 or 15% of the value of your car. Don’t expect to get the full £1,250 if you’re driving your first car that cost a few hundred pounds!
  • Personal Belongings – We all forget to take valuables out of our vehicles at times, and if you lose anything worth up to £100 or if it’s stolen, you’re covered.
  • 24 Hour Emergency Helpline – You’ll only get this with a comprehensive or third party fire and theft policy, but at least it means you can call them on Christmas Day if you breakdown!
  • Bonus Match – I like this option. If you add a second car to your motor policy, in most (not all) cases, Admiral will match the no claims bonus that vehicle already has.
  • Discounts – You can spread the cost of your policy by paying monthly however, if you choose to pay by debit or credit card you can save 10%. You can also save the same amount when you buy online.
  • Choice of Excess – Again, unlike many other vehicle insurance companies, there are a wide range of excesses to choose from.

So, those are pretty much all the benefits you can get with an Admiral Vehicle insurance policy and most of them are available on the single, multi-car and young drivers’ policies.

Speaking of young drivers….

Have you heard about “LittleBox”? It’s not exactly the coolest name in the world but at least Admiral is trying. What they have done with this system is made it possible to remove the stereotype that sticks to many young drivers.

A tiny device is fitted out of sight and measures how safely you drive. They’re not the first company to think about this type of policy, they’ve just given it a different name however; there are additional benefits you get with LittleBox you won’t get with other companies.

For example, the minute you’ve signed up to your policy you’re insured to drive. Admiral will then arrange for a technician to pay you a visit so the device can be installed, and they won’t charge you for this. Plus, you won’t be held to any curfews and you can choose how many miles you do (up to a maximum of 12,000).

This type of policy isn’t just for young drivers, anyone can take it out but it does help those of you who are new to the world of driving, and those of you that are finding it hard to get insured because of you’re age.

No stereotypes at Admiral, just great policies and lots of discounts!
